remailer  George Orwell, remailer  che fa  parte del  Progetto Winston
Smith  condividendone  oltre agli  scopi  anche  parte  del gruppo  di
gestione.

HARDWARE UTILIZZATO
Il computer utilizzato è dotato di:
- - doppio processore Intel Xeon;
- - 4 gb di ram;
- - 2 hard disk da 36 gb in raid.

SERVIZI DISPONIBILI
Oltre  i servizi  principali per  l'anonimato il  computer  dà accesso
diretto via ssh ai due amministratori nonché la possibilità di leggere
la posta elettronica via imap/ssl.

PIANI FUTURI
- - realizzazione di un nym server;
- - server smtp raggiungibile via hidden service;
- - gateway bidirezionale mail2news.

Il  server è  ospitato presso  la webfarm  del provider  Aruba  in via
Ramelli 8, Arezzo - Italia

EVENTI DI SISTEMA
18.11.2008  - Riavviato il  computer perché  una directory  del server
	      mixmaster era piena

10.09.2008 -  Riavviato il  computer per un'errata  configurazione del
	      firewall

31.08.2008 - Riavviato il computer per il mancato funzionamento della
	     vpn di controllo

03.08.2008 - Riavviato il  computer per il mancato funzionamento della
	     vpn di controllo

29.03.2008  - per  un  errore  di configurazione  il  remailer non  ha
	      funzionato dalle ore 6.11 alle ore 18.10
	      Nello  stesso  giorno è  stato  rilevato  il blocco  del
	      pinger in atto da alcuni giorni

05.03.2008 - Riavviato il computer per cambiare il kernel

24.02.2008 - cambiato tutto l'hardware. Intervento durato dalle ore
	      11.30 alle 13.30

14.08.2007  -  Il computer  è  stato  spento  per l'aggiornamento  del
	     sistema operativo dalle ore 10.30 alle ore 14.00 circa

05.07.2007 - Il pinger  era rimasto bloccato dal 17.06.2007. Riavviato
	     normalmente

18.02.2007 -  Annunciato il servizio di distribuzione  di alcune liste
	      di posta elettronica come newsgroups

04.02.2007 - Il computer ha subito un riavvio per manutenzione

12.01.2007 - Il computer ha  subito un riavvio per un malfunzionamento
	     del software di sistema.

04.01.2007 - Il computer è stato spento dalle ore 16.00 alle ore 16.27
	     per un intervento di manutenzione hardware.

03.01.2007 -  Interruzione dei  servizi dovuto ad  un malfunzionamento
	     della  scheda di  rete  dalle ore  11.30  alle ore  12.52
	     quando il  computer è  stato riavviato dal  personale del
	     provider su nostra richiesta.

28.10.2006 -  Il computer ha avuto  un malfunzionamento a  causa di un
	     problema software del sistema operativo, malfunzionamento
	     che  ha portato  all'interruzione dei  servizi  dalle ore
	     0.00 circa alle ore 10.00.

15.09.2006 - Il computer è stato spento dalle ore 6.10 alle ore 8.50 a
	     causa  di un  guasto  all'armadio così  come  ci è  stato
	     indicato  dal  provider;  al  riavvio  tutto  è  sembrato
	     regolare. Abbiamo di  conseguenza cambiato la password di
	     root ed è  stata generata una nuova coppia  di chiavi del
	     server ssh.

remailer George  Orwell.  This remailer  belongs to the  Winston Smith
Project sharing the scopes and also part of the group of management.

HARDWARE IN USE
The computer has:
- - dual Intel Xeon processors;
- - 4 gb of ram;
- - 2x36 gb hard disk with raid.

Beyond  the anonymous  services the  computer  has ssh  access to  two
administrators and also reading email via imap/ssl.

FUTURE PLANS

SYSTEM EVENTS:
18.11.2008 - Computer rebooted because a spool directory for mixmaster
	     server was full

10.09.2008  -  Computer rebooted  for  a  wrong  configuration of  the
	       firewall

31.08.2008 - Computer rebooted for the malfunction of the control vpn

03.08.2008 - Computer rebooted for the malfunction of the control vpn

29.03.2008  - remailer  did not  worked from  6.11 to  18.10 due  to a
	      configuration error
	      In the same day we found pinger not working 

05.03.2008 - Computer rebooted to change the kernel

24.01.2008 - hardware completely changed. Intervention from 11.30 to
	     13.30

14.08.2007 - Computer rebooted for the upgrade of the operative system
	     from 10.00 to 14.00

05.07.2007  -  The pinger  was  down  from  17.06.2007. Now  ti  works
	       normally

18.02.2007 - announced the gateway mailing - list -> newsgroups

04.02.2007 - Computer rebooted for maintenance

12.01.2007  - The  computer  was  rebooted for  a  malfunction of  the
	      operative system.

04.10.2007  -  The  computer  was  down  from 16.00  to  16.30  for  a
	     intervention on the hardware.

03.01.2007 -  All the  services was interrupted  for a failure  of the
	     network interface card from  11.30 to 16.52 when a reboot
	     was made by the provider personel.

28.10.2006 - The computer was down from the 0.00 to 10.00 circa due to
	     a failure of the operative system. As consequence all the
	     services were down too.

09.15.2006 - The  computer was down from  6.10 am to 8.50 am  due to a
	     power failure  in the rack,  as the provider told  us: at
	     the  reboot everything  looked good.   As  consequence we
	     changed the root password and  a new key pair for the ssh
	     daemon was generated.
