"The Nehemiah processor features the Padlock RNG (Random Number
Generator), this is a hardware random number generator built into the
core of the processor. This is the only CPU on the market with a built
in hardware random number generator. The reason why a hardware random
number generator is required, rather than a software based one, is
because a software random number generator cannot generate a truly
random number. A true random number generator can be used for digital
signatures, challenge/response authentication protocols, data encryption
etc, all of which are extremely important in securing PCs. The processor
also supports SSE instructions, and MMX, and has a full speed FPU. More
details here.
The C5P processor builds on top of the security of the Nehemiah, by
"integrating a powerful Advanced Cryptography Engine that can encrypt or
decrypt data at a sustained rate of 12.8 Gb/s. For a single encryption
or decryption, the effective rate can be even faster, up to 21 Gb/s.
This is faster than any known commercial AES hardware implementation,
and several times faster than software implementations carried out with
the latest high performance processors." The test results provided by
VIA on their page about the Padlock technology show the VIA C5P as 33x
to 1419x quicker (in Mbps) than a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 at
encrypting/decrypting."

Se la MB e' palladium-free sarebbe molto interessante per server
 criptati ed altre applicazione AES_intensive.

Il processore e' compatibile Intel ? Esiste una Debian testata ?
