Hi guys,

a few words about the development of the thunderbird extension:

I finally managed to handle surbs attached (as embedded text in the
message) to the incoming emails. The user has now the opportunity of
inspecting the attached surbs and eventually compose and send a reply
using the given surbs.
Initially the idea was to enable/disable buttons in the compose window
according to the content of the message which the user is replying to.
The bad news is that, after closing a compose window, the function in
charge of enabling/disabling buttons is not run, making such automation
useless and unpractical.
After few days of investigation, I realized that the misbehaviour
happens whenever in the "Error console" there is a message like:

"gAccountManager has no properties".

Then, googling about it and making a few more tests, it seems due to
some bug in Enigmail.
I have to admit that my Thunderbird (2.0.0.24 (20100623)) and its
Enigmail (0.95.7) are not really up-to-date (shame on me, I am a very
bad sysadmin) but, for some reasons, now is a bit complicated for me to
move to more recent versions until I will get a new working system (I
hope very soon).

Anyway, if anyone is willing to test it on his own system, he is more
than welcome and will have all my support.
More in general, I think that having a few people in charge for the
testing (also for the server side and directory stuff) would be a good idea.

At the moment I am still struggling for the extension to behave
sufficiently well...at the moment it does not seem to be so easy.

Regards,

Lorenzo
