Hi all,
sorry for my poor english.
we all know there is not an easy way to create, manage and use nym on
linux/Unix as mixmaster does not comprehend more the code for nym
creation and create a nym without any other help is really hard. On
other way it is not my interest to use programs like thunderbird and
torbutton because I don't like.
More,I think that we need to change our approach to the problem
because we have to use new programs like tor and new services like
gmail: an email address like user at nym.mixmaster.org is less "usable"
than something like anybody at gmail.com. More, using gmail allows us
not to own and manage specialized server.
Watch out, my goal is not to create a "nym for the masses" but a
working solution for this problem addressed for who can use our
tools. Much of these ideas come from the reading of
https://wiki.torproject.org/noreply/TheOnionRouter/TorifyHOWTO/EMail but I would
like to extend this to be more comprehensive.
This is what we need:
- a program to read and manage email messages in the spool, the MTA. About this
I think the best solution is mutt because this is the program more
customizable;
- a program to receive messages in a local spool, that is fetchmail. The choice
to use a program like these will permit us to easily change MTA program;
- a program to send the messages with smtp, something like esmtp or ssmtp. Here
the same for fetchmail and the change of MTA;
- a proxy program to use in cascade with tor, like 3proxy.
Do you somebody is doing something like this?
