Buongiorno a tutti,

ricevo da una fonte forse attendibile un messaggio
 che indica come compromessi un nutrita serie di
 remailer anonimi (circa il 20% della attuale rete).

Essi sarebbero infatti controllati, secondo la fonte,
 dalla Chiesa di Scientology, organizzazione non
 propriamente nota per le sue tendenze libertarie.

Si tratta per la maggior parte di remailer relativamente
 nuovi, cosa che potrebbe avvalorare la tesi dello
 scrivente.

Data l'abbondanza di remailer in rete, personalmente
 riterrei consigliabile evitare, per prudenza, di usare
 quelli elencati, almeno fino a quando la situazione
 non sara' chiarita. Occhio quindi alle chain implicite.

Dear honest, non-Scientology remailer operator,

Well, at least I hope you're an honest, non-Scientology
remailer operator.  :)  Evidence suggests you are not an
undercover Scientologist.

Most of the operatives from Scientology's OSA (Office of
Special Affairs) imagine themselves on a do-or-die mission
to stop me (Katra Lawkins) and my boss (Ralph Dorian) before
we totally discredit and disband their organization.  For
that, they have to find and kill us.

They seemed to be setting their hopes on a plan that looked
something like this:

1) acquire every news server log from every NSP worldwide

2) with a combination of spam, "sporge" and flooding, drive
away all lurkers from newsgroups where one of us might post

3) lay out baited postings that are worded to get a reply
from one of us specifically

4) engage us in a very active conversation requiring the
downloading of many messages

5) use acquired news server logs to identify us


But we're onto that plan now and we've taken effective steps
to avoid getting trapped by it.

When OSA finds out "Plan N[ewsServerLogs]" isn't going to
work out, they may shift all emphasis to "Plan R[emailer]",
which involves getting our e-mail address when we send
messages to a remailer.  For this they've set up their own
remailers.  Here's a list of OSA's remailers:

Problem for "Plan R" is, we have a spy in OSA telling us
which remailers are theirs.  We've also set up our own
private remailer system that makes it unnecessary for us to
EVER connect directly to ANY public remailer.  All our
messages go through the private system first.

I'm not sure what OSA may do if they realize we're never
going to send mail directly to one of their remailers.
Quite possibly, they may put greater emphasis on controlling
and/or displacing all non-Scientologist, honest remailer
operators like yourself.

OSA has already been successful in shutting down the Freedom
remailer <remailer at freedom.gmsociety.org> by flooding it and
harassing its operator.

Now they've replace it with one they call "Zero Freedom".

For you to successfully resist OSA operatives, it helps to
know more about where they're coming from.
